Rann Utsav – Celebrations & Beyond

The Rann of Kutch is famous for its white salty desert, the largest salt desert of its kind in the world.

Unlike the traditional desert, the Rann of Kutch is a geographically unique landscape that is formed due to natural deposit of salt in this area, making it arid. The desert was once an arm of the Arabian Sea. As the land separated from the sea by geological forces, it became a vast, featureless plain encrusted with salt that is inundated with water during the rains.

On full moon nights, the White Rann transforms into fairy land with the reflection of white light of the moon on the infinite plain of White Rann that sparkle like scattered gems.
